THIRTY-EIGHT former pupils of Inverurie academy gathered for a reunion at the Drouthy Laird in Inverurie on Saturday.

To celebrate this diamond 'jubilee' members of Class of 63 enjoyed taking a sentimental journey and catching up with who was now doing what, when and where.

Organiser Norma Hart had some difficulty tracking down former classmates but thanks to the wonders of computer technology and Whatsapp she soon found she had an enthusiastic response.

She said:"Some girls had changed their names once or twice but we got there in the end.

"The replies came from all over Scotland and south of the border."

After the reception a meal had the accompaniment of suitably nostalgic 60s songs and music.
