The important A97 link will get this essential maintenance work over a two-week period from September 4 between the hours of 9am and 3pm (Monday to Friday).

Access will be provided for vehicles requiring access to properties but this may be subject to delay until the road is cleared of construction plant to allow safe passage through the works.

As Aberdeenshire Council cannot divert traffic onto roads which are not suitable for larger vehicles, the diversion route is via the A97 to B9001 from the A97 to Glendronach, B9024 at Glendronach to A947 near Turriff. A spokesperson said: "We hope this off-peak closure will have less impact on the travelling public and we do appreciate motorists’ patience and understanding during the works."
