A couple who organised ceilidh dance classes has raised hundreds of pounds for two lifesaving charities.

Caroline and George Rennie from Banff spearheaded the six events, which culminated in a Saturday night dance.

Deveronside Social Club provided its venue free of charge and the profits of £231 were donated to Banff and Macduff Community First Responders.

During the last dance a raffle was held for Chest, Heart and Stroke Scotland

Mr and Mrs Rennie's grandson, Brodie Stewart, raised money earlier in the year after his father, Barclay, suffered a stroke at just 25.

Brodie raised more than £3,500 by taking part in an event at the Run Garioch event in Inverurie.

The raffle raised £282 which went towards Brodie's total.

Mr Rennie said: "We would like to thank John Cox and his staff at The Deveronside, all those who supported us during the sessions and the dance and those who helped and donated prizes for the raffle.

"Caroline and I are arranging some dance dates for the darker nights, if you would like to join in the dancing, you can contact Caroline via email at carolinerennie9@gmail.com"
