Cyclists can take on Banffshire Cycle Challenge

The Rotary Club of Banff's annual Banffshire Cycle Challenge is set to take place on Sunday, May 28.

The event starts at the Deveron Community and Sports Centre in Banff and aims to encourage people to enjoy the fantastic countryside to the west of town on their bikes.

There are three routes of four miles, eight miles and more than 25 miles. Entrants are encouraged to cycle the route that suits their experience and ability.

The cost is £10 per entry and children are free. This is to encourage families to take part.

All money raised will be used to support local good causes.

The event starts at 10am and full details and entry can be found at banffshirecc.weebly.com

Participants can also turn up on the day and register to take part.

A spokesman for Banff Rotary said: "The Banffshire Cycle Challenge has been a popular fixture on the local cycling calendar for a number of years.

"We are looking forward to welcoming not just experienced cyclists, but also families and others who want to challenge themselves on the shorter routes and enjoy the wonderful countryside."
