Community work to improve active travel uptake in and around Huntly could see cyclists provided with town centre storage and on site basic repair facilities.

With the opening of the Active Travel Hub and the Bikery, cycling is very much at the centre of this and now Aberdeenshire Council is planning to improve storage and security in the town centre.

Plans have been submitted for a proposed cycle shelter to accommodate four cycle stands and a bike repair station.

The bike stand will also provide a repair station.

The proposal also includes works to extend the existing paved footpath and kerb line at the section which sits opposite No30.

A full planning application is required as the shelter is proposed within the Huntly Conservation Area and submitted documents state that three location options were submitted as part of the pre-application enquiry.
