Aberdeen indoor marketplace, Curated Aberdeen, has partnered with Aberdeen Cocktail Week 2022 to host Cocktails And Conversations, a specialised event highlighting the huge range of talented craft spirit makers in the north-east.

Taking place from October 21-October 23, more than 10 drink brands have signed up to take part including Arbikie Distilling, AVVA, Cabezon Beverage and Seidear.

Cocktails And Conversations at Curated Aberdeen will offer shoppers the unique chance to personally meet the makers of their favourite spirits, discover brands they haven’t yet tried and find out more about different flavour combinations as well as the distilling process.

In addition, the public will be able to taste test unique flavours like the brands’ festive editions and witness live cocktail demonstrations that are sure to inspire creativity for entertaining family and friends.

Curated Market manager Lauren Martin said: “The North-east has an incredible range of craft spirit makers so we are very proud to partner with Aberdeen Cocktail Week to help showcase what they have to offer.

"Curated Aberdeen is a unique platform enabling the public to discover new, talented brands and it also encourages them to shop local.

“Each brand has something exciting on offer for shoppers and we can’t wait to welcome the public to this speciality market, where they’re sure to find something to treat themselves to or find the perfect gift for someone else.

“We’re also extremely grateful for those who choose to shop at Curated Aberdeen as profits support local charity, Charlie House, which has a mission to help children with life-limiting conditions and their families across the north-east.”

Aberdeen Cocktail Week organiser Gregor Sey said: “The craft drinks industry is constantly moving and each year more exciting brands launch with unique products and flavourings.

"Collaborating with Curated Market is a great way to introduce these brands to the general public and get people excited about this ever-growing sector.

“Having previously collaborated with Charlie House for an at-home cocktail making kit in 2020, we were keen to work together again to not only support the Aberdeen craft spirits sector, but also to support a fantastic cause.”

As part of Aberdeen Cocktail Week Charlie House has also collaborated with one of Aberdeen’s newest bars Barbelow to see limited edition cocktail, The Charlie Dog, added to the menu.

This Aperol-based orange cocktail tastes both bitter and sweet and is complete with an instagrammable cocktail smoke bubble for dramatic flair.

Available until the end of October, all proceeds from The Charlie Dog cocktail will be donated to Charlie House.

Curated Aberdeen is open to the general public but spirit stallholders will be operating a Challenge 25 policy and ID may be required for sampling and buying products.

Cocktails And Conversations will take place alongside Curated Aberdeen’s usual indoor marketplace, meaning shoppers can continue to browse a range of products from hand-crafted jewellery, scented candles and stylish clothing.

Situated in Bon Accord Centre’s lower mall, Curated Aberdeen hosts up to 30 local businesses and is open every Friday and Saturday from 10am-5pm and Sunday from 11am-5pm.
