In 2023 NEAT was awarded a Positive Action Grant (PAG) by Live Life Aberdeenshire (LLA) to support actions that improve community health and wellbeing in selected rural settlements with limited public transport and restricted local access to culture and sports.

Five communities are being support by the fund.
Five communities are being support by the fund.

Using the PAG funds, NEAT is working with the communities in Cuminestown, Rothienorman Fettercairn, New Deer and Strathdon to increase cultural activity, help local residents ensure long-term delivery, and raise awareness of LLA’s services across Aberdeenshire.

NEAT have launched two exciting new enterprises for these communities -

The Community Culture and Heritage Fund supports individuals and groups who either wish to run or are already running cultural or heritage activities in any of the five targeted areas.

Groups can apply for up to £1000 and individuals can apply for up to £500 with a deadline to apply by March 1.

There is a pdf guidelines document on the application form, which gives more clarity on the activities they want to fund.

The Online Bothy – Skills Sharing Programme is a chance to connect with other group leaders, volunteers and artists around the region.

There will be facilitated sessions from professional project managers, giving skills on how to run projects more effectively and efficiently.

It’s a place to meet like-minded people, to learn and to share good working practice with others.

The course would normally have a value of £450 to attend but for people operating in our five target areas, it is free to join.

Deadline to apply - February 23.

All information about the Fund and Online Bothy can be found at the PAG link above.
