Cullen bathing waters classed as 'excellent' in latest SEPA report

MORAY bathing waters have been classified as 'good' or 'excellent' in a new Scottish Environment Protection Agency report.
The report, which assessed the water quality across various locations in Moray, revealed consistently positive results.
Findhorn and Cullen were classified as 'excellent' while Lossiemouth was classified as 'good'.
The report assessed water clarity, bacterial levels and pollution indicators.
Councillor Scott Lawrence (SNP, Forres), the SNP group's spokesperson on health, welcomed the report.
He said: “Moray is not only a beautiful place to live but also a destination that attracts tourists and local visitors who appreciate our clean and inviting waters.
“Those who will be brave enough to take the plunge in ice-cold waters for a Boxing Day swim or a New Year’s Day dook can do so knowing the Moray waters are pristine and safe.
“SEPA has done a fantastic job, in partnership with regulated operators and stakeholders nationwide, to generate substantial investment and make sure that our bathing waters are of the highest quality."
