Friday, August 9-Sunday, August 11 will see the McBoyle Hall in Portknockie play host to the display of member's work created over the past 12 months.

Doing the honours in opening the three-day event will be Keith Cullen councillor Theresa Coull.

Previous exhibitions were typically held in Cullen's Memorial Hall but the facility's unavailability last year saw the group on the move to Portsoy Church of Scotland Hall. A similar lack of availability has meant that the show's peripatetic nature continues this year.

However, this has not served to diminish the enthusiasms of the groups 20 or so members as they lovingly put the finishing touches to their display pieces ahead of the opening night on Friday at 6pm. This will include a cheese and wine evening.

One of those looking forward to unveiling the 2019 exhibition is Cullen Art Group chairwoman Myra Craig.

She said: "Our members have been working hard on their pieces all year and again we're delighted to have a wide range of mediums on show, including oils, watercolours, pen and ink, pastels and pencil drawings.

Anyone with an interest in art is most welcome to come along regardless they have any experience as an artist or not.

"The same is true of our group –we would love to see some new members coming along.

"We don't have an official tutor but we do have visiting tutors from time to time which we all enjoy tremendously."

The exhibition is open on the Saturday from 10am until 8pm and then on Sunday from 10am to 5pm.

The group meet on Tuesday mornings upstairs at Cullen Community and Residential Centre from 9am to 12 noon.
