Creatives return for Gamrie arts and crafts showcase

After a two year break organisers are delighted to welcome the return of Gamrie Creatives, Gardenstown’s arts and crafts event.

The showcase is set to take place over three days and will run from Friday, August 12 through to Sunday 14.

With 21 participants in 15 venues it offers a diverse selection of artistic and creative work from people who live or holiday in Gardenstown and the surrounding area.

This will be a wonderful opportunity for visitors and locals to stroll up and down the many paths of this beautiful Aberdeenshire coastal village.

Venues will be open from 10am to 4pm on each of the three days and all will be clearly signposted.

They include - Colin Greive at Colin's Shed at the New Ground offering a range of traditional woodturning items; Catrina Hendry at 12 Harbour Street with her Story in a Box creations and Martin Wiseman at British Gnome Stores on Harbour Road where he showcases his minature creel creations.

The Denside Gallery (venue 6) is hosting several artist including landscape painter Alastair Keith, driftwood and felt creations from Andrea Brewster all made from items found around Gamrie Bay, and Catriona Nicol's artisan jewellery.

Handmade bags are the focus of Julia Cunningham's work which is on show at the Workshop at 57 Denside, with stoneware vessels make the collection from Katrina Wynne on show at 65 Strait Path.

Gardenstown Community Hub at the Little School is also acting as a multi-artist venue with items from Gamrie Glass, Jessie Brock's fabric work and even music from harpist Irene Watt will be on offer.
