Covid-19 outbreak forces closure of Stephen Hospital in Dufftown

THE Stephen Hospital in Dufftown has been closed due to a Covid-19 outbreak, NHS Grampian have confirmed.

The Speyside based health centre will continue to administer care to current patients as normal while all non-essential visitors have been advised to stay away.

A spokesperson for NHS Grampian said: "We are aware of 17 Covid-19 cases associated with Stephen Hospital, in Dufftown, identified since January 11. Both staff and patients are affected.

"The facility is currently closed to new admissions with essential visitors allowed only. Patients are receiving care as normal."

A further 1328 cornonavirus cases have been confirmed in the past week in Moray with one individual dying.

That included a total of 75 confirmed cases in and around the Speyside area.
