A MORAY couple celebrated their 55th anniversary with a romantic lunch arranged by staff at Glenisla Care Home in Keith.

James Smart, who is a former Buckie High School teacher and a resident at Glenisla, was joined by his wife Sandra as the couple marked their Emerald wedding anniversary.

Care staff pulled out all the stops to ensure the happy couple – who have two children and three grandchildren – were able to celebrate their milestone anniversary with a private three-course lunch in the home’s Strathisla lounge.

Sandra Smart, also a retired school teacher, said: “We are grateful to the staff at Glenisla care home for making our 55th anniversary so incredibly special. We were totally spoiled.

"Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for creating memories that will stay with us forever.”
