Aberdeenshire Council's Business Services Committee on January 7 agreed to create the necessary processes and scheme to be launched on Monday, January 25.

Scottish Government have provided an allocation to Aberdeenshire Council of £1.77m.

The aim of the fund is to mitigate the short-term financial challenges being experienced by businesses adversely impacted by restrictions and regulations introduced since October 2020 to control the spread of Covid-19.

The Aberdeenshire Discretionary Fund will allow the Council to direct additional financial support to specific groups, sectors or businesses in the Aberdeenshire area.

Businesses can obtain an application form along with full details of the fund when the link goes live at 9am on Monday.

Grants are expected to be paid within 10 days of receipt of fully completed application forms and supporting documentation.

To manage the process and keep it separate from the other grants that Economic Development is handling, the following address is now live; discretionaryfund@aberdeenshire.gov.uk
