Coronavirus update: Weekend rise in NHS Grampian case numbers

In Scotland in the last 24 hours there have been a total of 1498 positive cases of coronavirus which equates to 7.4 per cent of those tested overall.

Amongst these newly reported cases NHS Greater Glasgow recorded 380 cases and NHS Lothian 261 cases.

NHS Grampian saw 99 cases while NHS Highland recorded 74 cases.

In the seven days to August 12 there were 294 new cases in Aberdeenshire (112.7 per 100,000), 233 in Aberdeen City (101.7 per 100,000) and in Moray 78 (81.5 per 100,000).

No new deaths have been recorded in Scotland with Covid-19 in the last 24 hours.

Cases which were centred on Fraserburgh continue to show the first signs of decline with small clusters in Kemnay, Turriff, Peterhead, Banff and Macduff also remaining static at present.

To date in Scotland more than 4,054,824 people have received the first dose of the Covid-19 vaccination and over 3,449,901 people have received their second dose.
