Coronavirus update: Test positivity remains above 10 per cent in Scotland

In Scotland in the last 24 hours there have been a total of 3190 positive cases of coronavirus which equates to 10.8 per cent of those tested overall.

This compares to 3613 in the previous 24 hours.

Amongst these newly reported cases NHS Greater Glasgow recorded 965 (1106 yesterday) cases and NHS Lothian 599 (630) cases.

NHS Grampian saw 146 (166) cases while NHS Highland recorded 110 (178) cases.

In the seven days to August 19 there were 424 new cases in Aberdeenshire (162.6 per 100,000), 379 in Aberdeen City (165.5 per 100,000) and in Moray 90 (94.0per 100,000).

No new deaths have been recorded in Scotland with Covid-19 in the last 24 hours.

Cases which have been focused on Fraserburgh remain static with Westhill/Elrick the latest to see a jump in positive test results being sustained.

To date in Scotland more than 4,079,496 people have received the first dose of the Covid-19 vaccination and over 3,556,947 people have received their second dose.
