Coronavirus update: Test positivity continues to rise in Scotland

In Scotland in the last 24 hours there have been a total of 3189 positive cases of coronavirus which equates to 12.4 per cent of those tested overall.

This compares to 3190 in the previous 24 hours.

Amongst these newly reported cases NHS Greater Glasgow recorded 989 cases and NHS Lothian 465 cases.

NHS Grampian saw 149 cases while NHS Highland recorded 179 cases.

In the seven days to August 20 there were 451 new cases in Aberdeenshire (172.9 per 100,000), 420 in Aberdeen City (183.4 per 100,000) and in Moray 95 (99.3 per 100,000).

No new deaths have been recorded in Scotland with Covid-19 in the last 24 hours.

Cases which have been focused on Fraserburgh and Peterhead areas have shown a slight decline with Westhill, Elrick and Banchory now the focus for positive test result increases.

To date in Scotland more than 4,082,698 people have received the first dose of the Covid-19 vaccination and over 3,572,042 people have received their second dose.
