Coronavirus update: Slight drop starts in NHS Grampian case numbers

In Scotland in the last 24 hours there have been a total of 1383 positive cases of coronavirus which equates to 5.6 per cent of those tested overall.

Amongst these newly reported cases NHS Greater Glasgow recorded 316 cases and NHS Lothian 226 cases.

NHS Grampian saw 69 cases while NHS Highland recorded 69 cases.

In the seven days to August 11 there were 296 new cases in Aberdeenshire (113.5 per 100,000), 244 in Aberdeen City (106.5 per 100,000) and in Moray 78 (81.5 per 100,000).

Five new deaths have been recorded in Scotland with Covid-19 in the last 24 hours.

Cases which were centred on Fraserburgh have finally started to show the first signs of decline with small clusters in Kemnay, Turriff, Peterhead, Banff and Macduff remaining static at present.

To date in Scotland more than 4,050,011 people have received the first dose of the Covid-19 vaccination and over 3,431,062 people have received their second dose.
