Coronavirus update: Positive signs as cases continue to decline in Aberdeenshire

Scotland saw 285 (364) positive cases in the last 24 hours which equated to 1.6 (1.6) per cent of those tested.

A further six deaths were noted in the last 24 hours with Covid as a contributing factor.

The NHS Greater Glasgow area saw 90 (100) cases and Lanarkshire 41 (65).

NHS Grampian saw 34 cases (37) while NHS Highland saw two (2).

The NHS Grampian area recorded 147 cases in the last seven days taking the overall total to 14,590.

Public Health Scotland's most up to date figures cover the seven days between March 31 and April 6 and show Aberdeenshire recorded 58 cases which equated to 1.0 per cent of all tests carried out and a positive test rate of 22.2 per 100,000 population.

For the same time period, Aberdeen City saw 54 cases equating to 1.1 per cent of all tests and a positive test rate of 23.6 per 100,000.

In the daily area figures case numbers show continue to show suppression of the virus across the north-east with previous small clusters now almost eradicated.
