Coronavirus update: Promising vaccination figures shown across Scotland

In Scotland in the last 24 hours there have been a total of 581 positive cases which equates to 3.3 per cent of those tested overall, with 27 deaths recorded with Covid-19 as a contributing factor.

NHS Greater Glasgow saw 161 cases and 104 in Lothian with the remaining cases found throughout Scotland.

NHS Grampian saw 19 cases while NHS Highland saw a further six cases.

In the seven days to February 23 there were 85 cases in Aberdeenshire (32.5 per 100,000) and 59 in Aberdeen City (25.8 per 100,000).

In the same seven days Moray has seen 51 cases (53.2 per 100,000) and Highland has seen 115 (48.8 per 100,000).

To date over 1.5 million people in Scotland have received their first vaccination, equivalent to 34 percent of the over-16 population, and a further 65,340 (1.4 percent) having received their second vaccination.

NHS Grampian have given 151,272 residents their first vaccine and NHS Highland 103,782.

This further breaks down as 33.5 percent of the Aberdeenshire population, 27.4 percent in Aberdeen City, 34 percent in Moray and 37.8 percent of the Highland population.
