Coronavirus update: North-east rates showing a steady decline in cases
Scotland saw a decrease again in positive cases overnight as a total of 994 cases were recorded in the last 24 hours compared to 1155 the previous day.
This equated to 5.8 per cent of those tested (5.8 the previous day).
A further 60 deaths were noted in the last 24 hours with Covid as a contributing factor.
The NHS Greater Glasgow area saw 331 cases (337), Lanarkshire 174 (207) and Lothian 119 (147).
NHS Grampian saw a fall to 63 cases (64) while NHS Highland's remained almost level 40 (43).
The NHS Grampian area recorded 598 cases in the last seven days taking the overall total to 12.388.
Public Health Scotland's most up to date figures cover the seven days between January 21 and January 27 show Aberdeenshire recorded 210 positive cases (down from 250 the previous day) which equated to 4.7 per cent of all tests carried out (down from 5.2) and a positive test rate per 100,000 population of 80.4 (down from 95.7).
For the same time period, Aberdeen City saw 269 cases (down from 278) equating to 6.2 per cent of all tests (down from 6.3) and positive test rate of 117.6 per 100,000 (down from 121.6).
In the daily area figures the sustained fall in cases continues across the whole of Aberdeenshire and Aberdeen City with Longside and Cromar continuing to show the higher case numbers in the Shire, and Danestone and Cults in the city.
