Coronavirus update: North-east decline in cases continues

In Scotland in the last 24 hours there have been a total of 1016 positive cases of coronavirus which equates to 8.1 per cent of those tested overall.

Amongst these newly reported cases NHS Greater Glasgow recorded 220 cases and NHS Lothian 196 cases.

NHS Grampian saw 65 new cases while NHS Highland recorded 32 new cases.

In the seven days to July 31 there were 231 new cases in Aberdeenshire (88.6 per 100,000), 313 in Aberdeen City (136.6 per 100,000) and in Moray 79 (82.5 per 100,000).

Nine new deaths has been recorded in Scotland with Covid-19 in the last 24 hours.

In Aberdeenshire the majority of cases are still centred around Fraserburgh with a smaller cluster in Stonehaven.

To date in Scotland more than 4,014,212 people have received the first dose of the Covid-19 vaccination and over 3,231,331 people have received their second dose.
