Coronavirus update: No let up in north-east cases in Aberdeenshire

In Scotland in the last 24 hours there have been a total of 6368 positive cases of coronavirus which equates to 14.2 per cent of those tested overall

Amongst these newly reported cases NHS Greater Glasgow recorded 1764 cases and NHS Lanarkshire 1017 cases.

NHS Grampian saw 436 cases while NHS Highland recorded 331 cases.

In the seven days to September 2 there were 1296 new cases in Aberdeenshire (497.0 per 100,000) in Aberdeen City 1073 (468.3 per 100,000) and in Moray 201 (210. per 100,000).

No new deaths have been recorded in Scotland with Covid-19 in the last 24 hours.

Many areas have now shown over or near to 50 cases in a seven day period, spread across the whole of Aberdeenshire including Turriff, Aboyne, Oldmeldrum, Inverurie, Inverbervie and Westhill while others have shown a continued rise.

To date in Scotland more than 4,121,962 people have received the first dose of the Covid-19 vaccination and over 3,726,769 people have received their second dose.
