Coronavirus update: NHS Grampian area sees drop in cases

Scotland saw 250 (281) positive cases of Covid-19 in the last 24 hours which equated to 1.8 (1.5) per cent of those tested.

There were no deaths reported in the last 24 hours with Covid as a contributing factor.

The NHS Greater Glasgow area saw 73 (71) cases and Lanarkshire 56 (59).

NHS Grampian saw 14 cases (32) while NHS Highland saw 10 (two).

The NHS Grampian area recorded 156 cases in the last seven days taking the overall total to 14,636.

Public Health Scotland's most up to date figures cover the seven days between April 2 and April 8 and show Aberdeenshire recorded 51 cases which equated to 0.9 per cent of all tests carried out and a positive test rate of 19.5 per 100,000 population.

For the same time period, Aberdeen City saw 68 cases equating to 1.3 per cent of all tests and a positive test rate of 29.7 per 100,000.

In the daily area figures Stonehaven South and Peterhead Ugieside were showing the highest case numbers in Aberdeenshire.
