Coronavirus update: More than 1000 cases in Aberdeenshire this week

In Scotland in the last 24 hours there have been a total of 2417 positive cases of coronavirus which equates to 8.1 per cent of those tested overall.

Amongst these newly reported cases NHS Greater Glasgow recorded 507 cases and NHS Lothian 348 cases.

NHS Grampian saw 262 cases while NHS Highland recorded 105 cases.

In the seven days to October 6, Aberdeenshire saw 1005 cases (385.4 per 100,000), Aberdeen City 595 (259.8 per 100,000) and Moray 363 (379.3 per 100,000).

The worst affected areas in Aberdeenshire include Banff, Peterhead, Huntly, Fraserburgh and Stonehaven areas.

There were 18 new deaths recorded in Scotland with Covid-19 in the last 24 hours.

To date in Scotland more than 4,246,101 people have received the first dose of the Covid-19 vaccination and over 3,859,839 people have received their second dose.
