Coronavirus update: Gradual increase in figures in Aberdeenshire

In Scotland in the last 24 hours there have been a total of 1101 positive cases which equates to 6.2 per cent of those tested overall.

NHS Greater Glasgow saw 374 cases, Lanarkshire 317, Lothian 121 and Ayrshire 84 with the remaining cases across Scotland with only the Western Isles not recording positive tests.

There were 42 cases in the NHS Grampian area and 11 in the NHS Highland area.

For the seven days to October 28 there have been 75 cases in Aberdeenshire (28.7 per 100,000) and 87 in Aberdeen City ( 38.0 per 100,00).

The average daily case number in Aberdeenshire has been rising since September 16, climbing from three per day to nine, with the highest case number so far recorded on October 24, when 16 positive tests were confirmed.

A further 24 deaths were also recorded with Covid-19 as a contributing factor in the last 24 hours.
