Coronavirus update:Further escalation in Aberdeenshire case numbers

In Scotland in the last 24 hours there have been a total of 6152 positive cases of coronavirus which equates to 12.9 per cent of those tested overall

Amongst these newly reported cases NHS Greater Glasgow recorded 1897 cases and NHS Lanarkshire 1071 cases.

NHS Grampian saw 423 cases while NHS Highland recorded 266 cases.

In the seven days to September 1 there were 1254 new cases in Aberdeenshire (480.9 per 100,000) in Aberdeen City 1017 (444.0 per 100,000) and in Moray 202 (211.1 per 100,000).

11 new deaths have been recorded in Scotland with Covid-19 in the last 24 hours.

Westhill, Turriff and Oldmeldrum have now recorded over 50 cases in a seven day period with similar figures now in Aboyne, Inverurie and Inverbervie.

To date in Scotland more than 4,117,147 people have received the first dose of the Covid-19 vaccination and over 3,717,587 people have received their second dose.
