Coronavirus update: Further drop in north-east cases

In Scotland in the last 24 hours there have been a total of 2047 positive cases of coronavirus (2086 yesterday) which equates to 8.5 per cent of those tested overall.

Amongst these newly reported cases NHS Greater Glasgow recorded 460 cases and NHS Lothian 479 cases.

NHS Grampian saw 158 (187) new cases while NHS Highland recorded 86 (96) new cases.

For the seven days to July 15 NHS Grampian recorded 1369 cases, taking the total in the area to since the start of the pandemic to 21,483.

In the seven days to July 13 there were 520 new cases in Aberdeenshire (199.1 per 100,000), 682 in Aberdeen City (298.2 per 100,000) and in Moray 151 (157.6 per 100,000).

Five new deaths were recorded in Scotland with Covid-19 in the last 24 hours.

To date in Scotland more than 3,963,502 people have received the first dose of the Covid-19 vaccination and over 2,940,202 people have received their second dose.
