Coronavirus update: Fraserburgh cases driving north-east increase

In Scotland in the last 24 hours there have been a total of 1381 positive cases of coronavirus which equates to 4.9 per cent of those tested overall.

Amongst these newly reported cases NHS Greater Glasgow recorded 289 cases and NHS Lothian 290 cases.

NHS Grampian saw 118 cases, a further rise on the previous days almost doubling of figures while NHS Highland recorded 44 cases.

In the seven days to August 2 there were 245 new cases in Aberdeenshire (93.9 per 100,000), 308 in Aberdeen City (134.5 per 100,000) and in Moray 76 (79.4 per 100,000).

11 new deaths has been recorded in Scotland with Covid-19 in the last 24 hours.

In Aberdeenshire the majority of cases are still centred around Fraserburgh at present and which have seen a continued increase in recent statistics.

To date in Scotland more than 4,018,503 people have received the first dose of the Covid-19 vaccination and over 3,268,887 people have received their second dose.
