Coronavirus update: Cases remain relatively static locally and nationally

In Scotland in the last 24 hours there have been a total of 1686 positive cases of coronavirus (1604 yesterday) which equates to 6.0 per cent of those tested overall.

Amongst these newly reported cases NHS Greater Glasgow recorded 422 cases and NHS Lothian 317 cases.

NHS Grampian saw 126 (127) new cases while NHS Highland recorded 98 (66) new cases.

For the seven days to July 20 NHS Grampian recorded 1098 cases, taking the total in the area to since the start of the pandemic to 22,143.

In the seven days to July 18 there were 408 new cases in Aberdeenshire (156.2 per 100,000), 514 in Aberdeen City (224.8 per 100,000) and in Moray 166 (173.2 per 100,000).

There were seven new deaths recorded in Scotland with Covid-19 in the last 24 hours.

To date in Scotland more than 3,987,074 people have received the first dose of the Covid-19 vaccination and over 3,010,505 people have received their second dose.
