In Scotland in the last 24 hours there have been a total of 6029 positive cases of coronavirus which equates to 14.9 per cent of those tested overall

Daily figures at present are still not properly representative of current rates as the system tries to cope with the sheer volume of tests.

This has seen figures swing between a high of 7713 positive cases down to 3893 in the space of 24 hours.

Amongst these newly reported cases NHS Greater Glasgow recorded 1741 cases and NHS Lanarkshire 1061 cases.

NHS Grampian saw 385 cases while NHS Highland recorded 290 cases.

In the seven days to August 28 there were 1032 new cases in Aberdeenshire (395.7 per 100,000) 887 in Aberdeen City (387.2 per 100,000) and in Moray 180 (188.1 per 100,000).

Seven new deaths have been recorded in Scotland with Covid-19 in the last 24 hours.

Cases are now endemic across the whole of the north-east with Aboyne and Oldmeldrum (Barra) recording the largest physical numbers of positive tests, while Aberchirder now shows the highest number of cases per percentage of population.

To date in Scotland more than 4,106,408 people have received the first dose of the Covid-19 vaccination and over 3,680,761 people have received their second dose.
