Finding a permanent home took a step forward following the retirement in January of the owners of Moar Furnishings on Forest Road, where an application was submitted by the Hillview Community Church to create a mixed use building forming the Community Church Assembly and Welcome rooms.

A second community based church in Mintlaw by the Mintlaw Community Church for the conversion of the former Garret public house at the Square in the town has also been approved.
Having been established in April 2012 Mintlaw Community Church is part of the network of Christian churches known as The Assemblies of God (AOG) who have churches throughout the north-east of Scotland.
The birth of a church in Mintlaw was due to the combined efforts of Fraserburgh AOG and Rotherham AOG under the guidance of Pastor Stuart Watt and it has continued to meet using community facilities over the years.
The property in question has been out of use for a number of years and was put on the market seeking a new owner and was bought by the church in February.
