Buckie Community Monitoring Group, part of Moray Community Planning Partnership's Local Outcome Improvement Plan, have organised the event in the Fishermen's Hall and are hoping to bring various strands of the community together for an exciting new project.

A spokeswoman for the monitoring group said: "We're looking to get as many people as possible from the community involved with confidence to cook sessions.

"These will be sessions where you can share recipes, learn basic cooking skills and learn how to shop on a tight budget.

"On Friday, November 1 we'll be holding a community lunch in the Fishermen's Hall and everyone is welcome to come along and enjoy free soup and sweet.

"This event will give people the opportunity to learn more about the project and community food growing spaces, as well as speak to people fro other areas who've participated in similar projects.

"They will be sharing the benefits it has brought them and their families."

A cook will be on hand during the lunch doing demonstrations of some simple and easy ways to cook meals from scratch. Food for the event is being supplied by Moray Food Plus.

The lunch is due to run from 12 noon to 2pm.
