Turriff Scout Group will be cooking up a storm at next year's camps after receiving over £1000 from the Coop Local Member Fund.

Coop Members raise money for local groups simply by scanning their membership card while shopping, with two pence from every pound spent on eligible items going into a charity pot for that store.

Members can then choose which of the three current causes they would like to support, or if no cause is selected their 'donations' will be split between the causes.

Nationally the fund has donated over £117,000,000 to community causes.

For the 2022-23 session, the three causes which Turriff store customers could choose to support were 1st Turriff Scout Group, Friends Of Forglen Hall and James Tennant Playing Field Association.

Each group received over £1000, with Turriff Scout Group receiving £1076.62 which they intend to use to upgrade camping equipment - especially cooking equipment - ahead of next year's camping season.
