The Home-Start Garioch volunteers Christmas lunch not only saw their dedication and care rewarded with a lovely dinner, but it also saw volunteers, trustees and staff with over five years' service receive a specially engraved miniature crystal award commemorating the recent King's Award for Voluntary Services.

In total, 24 awards were presented with a combined 224 years between them which saw Angela Gowdy BEM top the leader board with an incredible 27 years.

Scheme manger Mhairi Philip, said she was delighted to be able to mark the occasion and recognise their long service.

She said: ""What makes our service special, what makes our service work is our volunteers.

"Their knowledge, experience and compassion helps us support parents, when they need us most."
