Huntly pupils outperformed the national average in key areas, and also achieved "a great range of qualifications" outside traditional academic qualifications.

“Congratulations to all of our pupils after what has been a very challenging and disruptive school year," Mr Gaiter said.

"Again, we have a great range of qualifications that pupils have achieved from National 2 through to Advanced Higher as well as Foundation Apprenticeships, Prince’s Trust and North East Scotland College qualifications.

"We are very pleased that 'A' is still the most commonly awarded grade at both National 5 and Higher levels and that The Gordon Schools is at or above the national average A- C pass rate for all examination levels."

In total, 81 per cent of National 5 pupils received passes from grades A to C, compared to the national average of 78.8 per cent.

Higher passes between A and C were in line with the national average at 77 per cent while, at 87 per cent, Advanced Higher passes at the same level topped the national average by almost ten per cent.

Two pupils achieved five As at Higher, and ten pupils passed seven National 5 – including three with seven As

Eight pupils gained six As at National 5, with three other pupils gaining 5As.

In total, 43 pupils gained five A – C passes or more at National 5.

13 pupils achieved five Higher passes and 46 achieved three or more Higher passes in one year.

At Advanced Higher, two pupils gained three passes at A, with four pupils passing three of the top qualifications.

Pupils also worked hard to achieve 162 National 4 awards, with seven National 3 and seven National 2 Awards.

"Overall, these results will allow the majority of our pupils who are leaving to move on to their positive destinations and provide a great base for the future for those who are staying on with us," Mr Gaiter said.

"Thank you to all school colleagues, families and others who support our pupils for your collective efforts in bringing about these successes."

And, as a homage to the school motto, he added: "Together Growing Succeeding!”
