Co-op launches new and improved store to serve Kemnay

The Co-op is set to serve-up a new, larger and improved food store to serve the Kemnay community
The newly developed, purpose-built, 3,750 sq ft convenience store – which is around double the size of the convenience retailer’s previous store in the village - supports 17 local jobs and, runs on 100 per cent renewable electricity.
Located in Station Road, the community’s brand new Co-op opens on Friday and will operate from 6am-10pm daily and includes a bakery, Fairtrade coffee machine and, hot food alongside an enhanced range of fresh, healthy products, meal ideas, everyday essentials, food-to-go, award winning wines and beers, ready meals and, free-from; vegan and plant-based products – including Co-op’s exclusive vegan range, GRO.
Amazon parcel collection is also available for added ease and convenience and, self-scan checkouts are included to make shopping quicker at busier times.
Students who are TOTUM cardholders – the new name for NUS extra – and, Young Scot cardholders receive a 10 per cent discount off groceries at the Co-op
A funding boost is also provided locally through Co-op’s Membership programme.
Membership of the Co-op unlocks additional value through in-store offers and promotions, and sees Members rewarded with 2p in every pound they spend on Co-op branded products which is added to their own personal Membership account balance - Co-op also donates the same amount to local causes and community organisations. .

A soft plastic recycle unit will also be available to enable the community to recycle packaging including crisp packets, plastic film lids, biscuit and bread wrappers and pet food pouches - a move which ensures all Co-op’s packaging is recyclable either through the local household waste collections or, through the in-store soft plastic recycling facility.
