Clean up continues in the aftermath of Storm Gerrit

Several roads are still affected as of Thursday morning in the wake of Storm Gerritwhich brought widespread disruption to the north-east.

As of 9.30am -

A96 at Huntly (trunk road) - currently closed at Railway Bridge with a diversion through the town. This is not suitable for high sided vehicles.

A948 New Deer - just outside of New Deer towards Auchnagatt there is an abandoned car.

B9030 Stuartfield to Old Deer - passible but be aware of a number of abandoned cars.

B9033 St Combs to A90 (trunk road) - currently closed due to a fallen tree but hoping to open soon.

B993 Inverurie to Whiterashes-currently closed due to flood water.

B979 Tyrebvagger - tree still blocking the road near Clinterty College site.

C138B Road into Pennan closed due to a landslide.

C100$ Rothiemay to Kinnoir - impassible due to flood water.

Roads around Kemnay are also still affected by flood water especially in the direction of Fetternear.

A93 Braemar to Spittal of Glenshee - Closed at snow gates.

A939 Cockbridge to Tomitoul - due to open at around 9.30am, may be slightly later as snow is still being cleared, but should be open soon.

A920 Pitmedden - Tree down at Pitmedden Gardens - Closed.

A920 Pitmedden toward Oldmeldrum - Tree down - Currently passible, may have to be closed for tree removal, teams are due to attend shortly.

B977 Kintore - Fintray closed at golf course due to flooding.

B9077 South Deeside Road - tree down but passible, currently being attended to by the local team.

B9005 Lovies to Methlick - Road closed due to flooding.

B9170 Barra Castle - flooded but passable.

C2S Mill of Eden - closed due to a landslide, has been closed since the weekend but the storm has delayed opening. Further work may be required before opening.

Rail users are advised to check for current updates as line inspections continue this morning - with most rail services currently suspended.
