Church Of Scotland have cancelled all services for the foreseeable future with immediate effect.

A spokesperson for the Church of Scotland said: "We are asking that all gatherings for worship should cease until further notice, with effect from today (Wednesday March 18).

"This includes all Easter services.

"Some Presbyteries have already instructed this action.

"This will include, but not be restricted to, housegroups, meetings for youth work, and church cafes.

"It will still be possible for an individual to offer a livestreaming of a sermon and prayers.”

The Church Of Scotland's General Assembly, due to take place in Edinburgh in May, has also been cancelled.
