Keith Community Radio will welcome the Moderator of the General Assembly of the Church of Scotland to the airwaves next week.

Rt Rev Dr Iain Greenshields will be on KCR’s religious programme 'Revving Up', which will be broadcast on Monday, February 20, at 7pm.

The 68-year-old from St Margaret’s Community Church in Dunfermline became a Christian at the age of 22 and was ordained in 1984.

The son of a Glasgow police officer, he has a keen interest in addiction issues, arguing that drug possession should be decriminalized.

He and his wife have six children, three of whom have been adopted from China.

James Wiseman, chairman of KCR, said: "We’re delighted that Dr Greenshields has agreed to join us on one of our shows.

"The radio is a great way to reach people and 'Revving Up' is a popular weekly programme on KCR with a rota of over 30 ministers taking part.

"Whether you attend church or not this is an opportunity not to be missed."

Dr Greenshields took up his year-long role last May.

At the time, he said: "I am honoured and humbled to have been chosen as Moderator Designate.

"My aim is to represent the Church and God in a way that is positive, instructive and hopeful."

KCR broadcasts across Moray on 107.7fm and worldwide on the internet at www.kcr.fm.

Next Monday's 45-minute programme will be repeated the following day at 11am.
