The Right Reverend Sally Foster-Fulton, Moderator of the General Assembly, will feature on KCR's religious show Revving Up next Monday, at 7pm.

KCR chairman James Wiseman said the station was "delighted" to host the Rev Fulton on the 45-minute programme, which will be repeated the next day at 11am.

And listening in to next week's show "is an opportunity not to be missed," he added.

Mrs Foster-Fulton's time as Moderator began in May 2023, as Church presbyteries were drawing up plans to close a large number of churches throughout the country against a backdrop of falling income, declining membership and fewer ministers.

She took a 12-month sabbatical from her job as Scottish boss of charity Christian Aid to enable her stint as Moderator, which is set to end in May 2024.

On the current difficult circumstances facing the Church, Mrs Foster-Fulton said: “It is painful but at the same time there is a deep desire to get this done and move forward.

“It is difficult and necessary, but a critical piece of work for today, and there will be more work when we begin to live out the new plan.

“So, we need to lift our gaze, remember who we are and why we’re here – to love God and each other.

“The message of Jesus Christ is not just hope for the future but is lifegiving right here and right now.”

KCR broadcasts across Moray on 107.7fm and worldwide on the internet.
