Sarah Robinson began making whisky marmalade during lockdown, to donate to friends, family and her local food bank in Insch but after a conversation with her local minister - Dr. Kay Gauld - she decided to sell the marmalade to help her fundraising efforts.

Sarah said: "The marmalade was so popular that Kay suggested that I should also consider selling it to raise funds for my GS365NNC charity project.”

After several years of producing the marmalade, Sarah made a surprise presentation at Ardmore Distillery to Dr. Gauld.

Sarah said: “I decided to present my 1000th jar of Yummy Whisky Marmalade to Kay as a thank you for her inspiration and encouragement.

"Without Kay, I wouldn’t be where I am today. I’ve raised over £3,400 from my Yummy Whisky Marmalade sales and almost £17.5k overall, with an aim to get to £20k by the end of the year. I’m so grateful to Kay and all my loyal customers and for all the support that has been given to me by George Forsyth and the team at Ardmore.”

Sarah's GS365NNC project, which she started in September 2019 focuses on sustainability and she hopes to raise awareness around landfill clothing and persuade people to buy less clothes and recycle as much as possible. All money raised will be shared equally between Cancer Research UK and to support sustainability projects at The Gordon Schools in Huntly where Sarah’s son is an S6 pupil.

She added: “Every day we are making, buying and burying clothes and this is just not sustainable. I love speaking to people about my project so if you are interested please get in touch via my Facebook page: grassetstyle or via my website www.grassetstyle.co.uk”
