Charity ball raises £25k for north-east poverty relief organisation

A housebuilding company has raised £25,772 for a poverty relief organisation in the north of Scotland at its recent charity dinner.
Barratt Developments, which includes Barratt Homes and David Wilson Homes, welcomed 220 guests to the Chester Hotel in Aberdeen on Friday, November 17 for an evening of entertainment.
The event was sponsored by Raeburn Christine Clark and Wallace (Scottish Solicitors and Estate Agents) and hosted by MC George Walker OBE.
Attendees included subcontractors, suppliers and partner agencies, who enjoyed an auction and raffle, performance from singer Emily Fordyce during a three-course dinner, an interactive game and, to round off the night, guests enjoyed entertainment from DJ Blu Promotions on the dance floor.
All proceeds from the evening went to Community Food Initiatives North East (CFINE) which provides support and services for disadvantaged, vulnerable and low-income individuals, families and communities in north-east Scotland.
Barratt Developments has raised a total of £40,000 for CFINE, its charity of the year, through the charity dinner, staff taking part in the Aberdeen Kiltwalk and the annual Barratt North Scotland Charity Golf Day earlier this year.

“The amount raised on the evening and the generosity of all those who attended was overwhelming and will make an incredible difference to so many people who we support across the north of Scotland.”

"In the North of Scotland, we’ve formed a strong relationship with CFINE this year and have been continuing to raise funds for the essential support its team provides to those in our local communities.
“The money raised from the event will allow CFINE to offer services which improve individuals’ health and wellbeing, environment and resilience to tackle poverty.”
