The charity has been supporting families in the Deveron area since it was founded in 1999 and is chaired by one of its founding members, Christine Cockburn.

The board is aiming to revitalise the charity through an innovative approach and they are creating the opportunity for people to come forward and register their interest in becoming part of the team of trustees.

Individuals are being encouraged to become board members, regardless of experience, as full training will be provided.

Director positions will also be made available to lead on business and financial management, marketing and communications, and health and wellbeing.

Christine Cockburn said: “Following a review process last year, we are keen to develop and streamline the support service we offer within the Deveron area, which spans Turriff, Banff/Macduff, Huntly and all outlying areas.

"We plan to make positive changes to ensure the continued viability of the service as more families are struggling due to the uncertainty of the financial climate and added pressures affecting their mental health.

"As a Board we recognise that there is strength in numbers and everyone brings new skills to the table and would love to hear from anyone who may be interested."

Home-Start Deveron are there when families need both practical and emotional support.

Offering one-to-one home visiting by trained volunteers, the charity's aim is to guide people through their struggles, offering support and unbiased friendship, to help families find the joy in life together and gain confidence.
