CHARITIES seeking to become the supported cause at the largest black-tie event in Moray are now able to submit applications.

Moray Chamber of Commerce, which is hosting its 19th annual business dinner on Friday, September 27, is inviting charities to submit their applications by June 21.

Last year’s selected charity, Outfit Moray, received a generous donation in excess of £13,000 from the auction proceeds on the night.

Every year, local businesses donate a large number of items for the auction, and an array of excellent items are anticipated again in 2024.

Charities interested in being considered must operate within Moray and demonstrate how their work positively impacts the local community.

The application process provides charities with the opportunity to outline both their current initiatives and their proposed utilisation of the funds.

All charities operating in Moray are invited to apply, regardless of whether or not they are currently a member of Moray Chamber of Commerce.

Sarah Medcraf, Chief Executive Officer at Moray Chamber of Commerce, expressed her enthusiasm for the event.

She said: “Moray is a community-focused region. There are so many worthy organisations and I wish we could support them all.

“But we are proud to do our bit and help facilitate such meaningful work, and we encourage charities to apply for the chance to be this year’s beneficiary.”

Moray Chamber’s business dinner sees 400 distinguished local business representatives gather at Gordon Castle in Fochabers. This is the fifth consecutive year that the event will be hosted at Gordon Castle.

The highlight of the evening will be the presentation of the Moray Chamber Business Award, honouring the company that has made a significant contribution to the local economy over the past year.

The award, sponsored by last year’s winner Gleaner Ltd, is an iconic copper pagoda carefully crafted by Forsyth’s and is beacon of local commitment.

Moray Chamber of Commerce extends its gratitude to its sponsors, including Good Highland Food, Gordon Castle, Brodie Countryfare, MJD Systems, Balfour Beatty and Diageo.

Application forms are available on the Moray Chamber of Commerce website or by emailing info@moraychamber.co.uk. The deadline for applications is 5pm on Friday, June 21.
