A CARE home provider is launching a limited-time incentive programme to attract nurses from across the country to the north of Scotland.

Parklands Care Homes, which operates five care homes in Moray and four in the Highlands, will offer a £2000 welcome bonus to new full-time nurses.

The move is designed to address the shortage of nurses in the area. Parklands has also launched a ‘refer a friend’ bonus scheme for existing staff in a bid to encourage more people to work in the care sector.

Manuela Flueckiger, manager of people and culture at Parklands Care Homes, said: “The UK has a severe shortage of nurses, which means we have to compete to attract high calibre professionals.

"We want the best for our residents, after all, so for a limited time we are offering a £2000 welcome bonus for new nurses.

“Parklands operates in smaller, rural communities across the Highlands and Moray, areas with a limited pool of available and qualified staff.

"Our hope is that this incentive will encourage nurses in other parts of Scotland, and indeed across the UK, to consider working in these beautiful locations and join our award-winning team.”

The group are currently recruiting staff at their homes in Aberlour, Buckie and Keith.
