Candidate nomination packs available for Buckie by-election

CANDIDATE nomination packs have been made available for prospective candidates for the upcoming by-election in Buckie.

The by-election, triggered by the resignation of Liberal Democrat councillor Chris Price, is due to be held on November 3.

The Lib Dems are so far the only party to announce a candidate for the by-election, with Les Tarr set to stand for them.

The formal election period will commence on Thursday, September 15, with candidate nominations being lodged from September 16.

Candidates have until 4pm on Monday, October 3, to submit their papers, by appointment, with the Returning Officer.

Prospective candidates can receive a copy of the candidate nomination pack by contacting the elections office at elections@moray.gov.uk or calling the elections helpline on 01343 563334.
