A unique and exciting joint opportunity is being developed between Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire to create a Youth Forum aligned to, and to influence, the objectives of the Community Sports Hub initiative.

This will bring together all parties from Aberdeenshire Clubsport, Clubsport Aberdeen and both City and Shire Community Sport Hub initiatives to work in collaboration to create a North East Youth Sports Panel.

A regional youth panel with 10-12 participants, aged 14-23 years, will be appointed.

The suggested allocation will be:

• North – secondary pupil, NES College Student, University Student.

• South – secondary pupil, NES College Student, University Student.

• City – secondary pupil, NES College Student, University Student.

• Disability – Two or three reps from different sporting backgrounds.

Ultimately, it is the intention that the members will have the responsibility to determine the key aims and objectives for the panel to action and progress.

However, in order to support this and provide an outline the following broad structural aims have been produced:

1 - Raising the profile of sport through the vehicle of the panel with the goal to develop greater participation in sport and physical activity

2 - Influencing the shape of development for the future direction of sport with a goal of widening the diversity of opportunities

The applications link is open now and will remain available until October 1.
