A popular Inverurie cafe has reopened its doors following the completion of extensive refurbishment works.

Fly Cup Catering welcomed back customers today (May 10), following a prolonged period of closure due to the Covid 19 lockdown and subsequent refurbishment works.

The organisation secured in excess of £19,000 from the Community Recovery Fund to support the refurbishment project, which has facilitated a revamp of the cafe area, including installation of new servery units and flooring.

Trustee at Fly Cup Catering Fiona Allan said: “We are excited to finally reopen our doors and share the new look cafe with our customers.

"Our sincere thanks go to the staff and volunteer team who have worked tirelessly to complete the project as quickly as possible following initial supply delays outwith our control.

"Special thanks must also go to local trades businesses for their support and donations towards the refurbishment efforts, including Hendersons and Craigmile Contractors, we are very grateful for their generosity.

"We are very much looking forward to seeing familiar and new faces visit us in the days and weeks ahead.”

The café will be open Monday to Friday 9am – 4pm and with high demand expected, bookings for lunch time are required by calling 01467 625 645.

Walks-ins are welcome for breakfasts and coffees, and afternoon teas are also available with 48 hours’ notice required.

The catering team also continue to offer their meal collection and delivery service on Tuesdays and Thursdays, as well as the very popular takeaway afternoon teas.
