The donation is part of their ongoing commitment to helping the local community and will help to fund CrossReach’s services, which provide support to people in Moray who are struggling with their mental health.

Katrina Adams, William Mair's Business Leader said: "I really wanted to find somewhere local to donate to that had a lot of support for mental health, especially men's mental health. CrossReach are amazing and offer a lot of support for people in Moray.

CrossReach have been delivering counselling sessions in Moray for over 16 years.

The service offers face-to-face counselling from their Buckie office, as well as online sessions.

In 2020, they also began offering a Perinatal service for people struggling with the challenges of pregnancy and parenthood, which is available to parents in Moray from the beginning of pregnancy up until a child is three years old.

A spokesperson for CrossReach said: "We are delighted to have received this donation from Dignity Funeral Directors. Donating to Crossreach can literally change and save lives. Every gift we receive is used to enhance and enrich the lives of people in our area who are struggling with issues in their lives.

"We offer a donation based service but would never turn anyone away who is unable to afford a donation. This money will allow us to continue to deliver a service to individuals who might never have been able to access counselling."

Since starting at William Mair's in February, Katrina has been keen to be more involved in community events.

Over the last few months, WM Mair has been part of an Easter Egg appeal, has launched a monthly Facebook competition for a bouquet of flowers - which is donated to someone of the winners choice - and has donated several raffle prizes to Buckie RNLI's fundraisers.

Katrina said: "I want William Mair to be a part of the community and to be there for people during the happy times, as well as the sad times.

"We are all about keeping things local and helping the community we are in as much as possible."
