Buckie woman put on sex offenders register

A young mum has been placed on the sex offenders register for encouraging a group of teenagers in a drunken game of truth or dare.

Kirstyann Kavanagh allowed the seven teenagers – who were aged between 13 and 15 – to drink inside her home on Watt Avenue, Buckie.

Kavanagh, who was 21 at the time, then cajoled two of them to kiss, and one of the boys to touch a girl's breast.

Earlier that same evening – October 9, 2021 – she also bought alcohol for a 14-year-old girl.

Now aged 23, Kavanagh appeared at Elgin Sheriff Court where she pleaded guilty to four charges.

The case was adjourned to March 9.
